The Fox Valley Resident of the Year Awards

Unfortunately, due to problems with the voting system allowing for individuals to vote multiple times for our candidates, the Fox Valley Resident of the Year Awards have been put on hold for the time being.

A very big thank you to all those who were honest regarding the voting process, and hopefully we will be able to develop a system that will prevent vote attacks in the near future.

It seemed unfair to give recognition to a candidate if there was a chance that someone else received more individual votes than the system indicated. Since we don't have the manpower that Florida did in the 2000 elections, it would be impossible to manually go through the thousands of votes we received each month to give a fair and balanced representation of who actually won.

Regardless, keep in mind that all of the past candidates each did something very special in our communities, and that alone should merit some recognition.

Welcome to the most important part of this website… the page where you get to vote for the Fox Valley Residents of the Week, Month and Year.

Every week I will nominate local residents who have done something special for the benefit of our communities in Northeast Wisconsin.  It could be anything from volunteering for a good cause, to saving a life.  One week we might have two or three nominees and the next we’ll have 10 or more.  It all depends on you!

Of course, I’m not just looking for your vote on people that I select myself.  I can’t possibly know of every single person who deserves recognition!  If you can think of anyone who deserves a nomination, please complete the Nomination Form.

Each and every week you will have the opportunity to read brief articles on various residents who have been nominated, and then cast your vote.  The nominees who are elected as Residents of the Week will then be the nominees for Resident of the Month.  Subsequently, the Residents of the Month will be nominees for Resident of the Year.

Both the Residents of the Month and Residents of the Year will receive certificates, plaques, or trophies, depending on community participation in this event.  The more popular it becomes, the greater it will be!  Again, it's all up to you!

Please note: due to the fact that we didn't have a full month of elections in March, the Fox Valley Residents of the Week who are elected during the month of March will be carried over to the elections for April's Fox Valley Resident of the Month.
